CHALLENGE
For my film project at university I wanted to create something that felt very close to Indonesian culture. I picked ghosts because stories about spirits and the supernatural are a part of life here.
PROCESS
I did not want to make a horror film. I decided to make mockumentary. The main idea was straightforward, what if a film crew could talk to a ghost. Watch its daily life?
The film was inspired by What We Do, in the Shadows. I combined ghost culture with light humor and a documentary style. As Director I worked on the story, the mood, the way the scenes were set up the speed of the film, the acting and the overall appearance of the film.
